Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

Lets celebrate another great author...

In 1904 on 2nd March Thedor Seuss Geisel was born. We know him as Dr Seuss. If he was still alive he would be 111 years old!!

He wrote 44 childrens books including classics like 'The Cat in the Hat', 'One fish two fish red fish blue fish', 'How the Grinch stole Christmas', 'The Lorax' and many many more.

Even after his death in 1991, Dr Seuss continues to be the best-selling author of children's books in the world.
Did you know that Theodor Geisel also used the pen names Theo LeSieg (Geisel backwards) and Rosetta Stone for books written by him, but illustrated by others. We have some of these books in our library.

What is YOUR favourite Dr Seuss book?

Check out the current library display for books written by Theodor Geisel and activity sheets (based on Dr Seuss books) to do in the library at lunchtimes.
Also on the 'Fun websites' tab on the top of this blog there is a link to Seussville - a website for fans of Dr Seuss books with more fun facts and online games to play. It's great fun!!

Happy Reading.
